Desserts

Frozen Lemon Creme This recipe is from The Wycliffe International Cookbook and the More with Less Cookbook. It is a very refreshing dessert in a hot climate.

Vanilla Pudding This pudding uses the most basic ingredients. For variety add cinnamon or chocolate or top with sliced bananas.

Breads

Sesame Crackers These are a wonderful crisp treat. They were especially enjoyable where store-bought crackers were not available.

French Bread This French bread recipe makes great pizza dough too! It's a yeast recipe, but easy enough for anyone to make successfully.

Flour Tortillas If you can't buy flour tortillas, but have basic ingredients, your family can enjoy a Mexican treat for dinner.

Mission Mix Similar to Bisquick, this is a basic mixture that can be used to make biscuits, pancakes, pizza dough and cinnamon rolls.

Sauces or Condiments

Mexican Salsa Excellent with tacos or as a dip for tortilla chips.

Papaya Butter This is a good substitute for apple butter. It can be spread on bread like a jam or warmed and used as a topping for pancakes.

Mayonnaise Don't let mayonnaise become a distant memory. You can make this delicious homemade mayonnaise.

Salads

Brazilian Chopped Salad The unusual ingredient in this salad is the sesame oil. It lends a mild, but different flavor to this chopped salad. Use your imagination with adding other ingredients. This salad never has to be the same from week to week.

Side Dishes

Mashed Potato Casserole Try this family favorite. These mashed potatoes, enriched with cheese, make a healthy side dish and great left-overs!
